Hindi.....Are you serious?!

So academics and me were never a great combo right from school days up until college. My mom being a private tutor, it was kind of embarrassing to say the least but I managed to sail through with average grades and some exceptions.....That's that! Concluding high school i.e. S.S.C has always been a milestone for any child in India and the pressure that dwells on students is insurmountable. I passed and got my admission through sports quota at one of the suburban colleges in Mum bai. Yes, I was a state level sprinter. So here I was gearing up for my first day of COLLEGE - New found sovereignty! I opted for Commerce and was in my first year, happily enjoying the freedom to attend or skip lectures, celebration of various days in college, matinee show movies etc. That was the year when the epic block buster movie had released - Kaho Na Pyaar Hain. I probably went a little too far in my obsession for the movie.....but that's for some other time! Time flies an...

Sorry.....It's not Canada!

I vividly remember that Friday. It was late evening, me at my thane flat, lazing up in larger than a room, but cozy couch. Yeah it’s my best corner of the house. I was still recovering from the umpteenth follow-up of my Canadian PR and the zilch movement on it. I was like, “Did you say Norway, and did yo...

Hi-Hi! My name is Minni and as I write this post, I’m sitting in the quayside cafe with a cup of white mocha, looking at a cruise ship docking, seagulls flying around at a distance and a southerly breeze flowing. I am in the oil capital of Norway - Stavanger , a port city. A beautiful quaint, bright European town, with more of the old world charm and a bit of new age quirkiness. Meander with me, as I enter an all new arena, the world of words, the world of writing, writing my way, my inexperienced articulation of what I see, hear, smell, touch and feel. I have been thinking of putting my thoughts on paper, for a very long time, but that's another story, which I will share some other time. Since the time I landed here, the town started growing on me. I’ve been wanting to write, share my experiences. Nervous and jittery, as it can get, yet another day, yet another week passed by and soon realised I’m making zero progress and time is...
